Physiotherapist
Ritika is a qualified physiotherapy graduate from AUT. She moved to New Zealand from India in 2006 to study physiotherapy. She is currently working with Peak Pilates and Physiotherapy, Botany. Since graduating she has completed several advanced courses in sports injury rehab, sports nutrition, dry needling and a specialised rehabilitation course designed for cancer survivors (Pink Pilates).
Ritika also has a strong background in dancing and started her career in the fitness industry as a choreographer which led her to become a physiotherapist. She has always been involved with a lot of sporting activities. She enjoys badminton, basketball, swimming, table tennis and running. She recently participated in the Rotovegas half marathon. In order to return to dancing Ritika decided to be a Zumba instructor and is now enjoying the latin moves in her spare time.
In the past she has worked with a few rugby teams and is now offering physiotherapy treatment and group fitness sessions involving high intensity exercises and stretches to Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club. These sessions will benefit the players by minimising or preventing them from injuries. They will also help them to improve their cardio fitness and their strength during the game.
Ritika believes in quality hands on assessment and treatment in a caring, friendly and professional manner to the highest standard possible. She likes to provide education and self-management techniques and assist players to be proactive in their treatment.
Ritika will be at the Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.00pm if you would like to meet with her.
